Julie Schenecker shook emotionally in court today as she was charged with killing her two teenage children because they were "mouthy" and she was "tired of it," reports ABC. The charges come after Schenecker was released from the hospital for an unspecified pre-existing medical condition, and as revelations of a troubled Army wife begin to surface. Just two months ago, child protective officials visited the Schenecker home after daughter Calyx filed a child abuse complaint stating that Schenecker "hit her with an open hand on her face for approximately 30 seconds." Schenecker told investigators that she'd "backhanded her daughter three times," though Calyx wasn't "bruised or bleeding."

Schenecker wasn't charged, but two days later, she got into a car accident that sent her to the hospital showing "signs of drug impairment," according to the police report. She had "mush-mouthed speech," yet somehow was released before she could be tested for drugs. An anonymous source tells ABC that Calyx and Beau Schenecker attended an Al-Anon meeting just three weeks ago with father Parker Schenecker in which Calyx broke down, crying, "My mom, my mom." "It was mentioned by the dad that they were there for the mother [Schenecker]...he said that she did have a drug and alcohol problem and they were here to cope with it," the source says. Parker Schenecker has returned from his post in Qatar; police sources say he won't be supporting his wife through her trial.
