10:1 odds he's a big fan of Shawshank Redemption: The Marine Reservist accused of shooting at the Pentagon and other military sites last year tried to dig his way out of jail, reports the Washington Post. He didn't come close. Officials at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center described Yonathan Melaku's wall-chipping progress as "minimal." They charged him with damaging his cell in an attempt to escape and possessing an instrument to aid escape. They didn't say what that instrument was, however. (More Yonathan Melaku stories.)
