Montreal ended a two-game losing streak last night with a 4-1 victory over Philadelphia, the AP reports. Rookie goaltender Carey Price, the Canadiens' first pick in the 2005 draft, had 29 saves, filling in for injured Cristobal Huet. Mark Streit had two goals for Montreal, and Mike Knuble was responsible for the lone Flyers' score. In other NHL action:

  • Jarome Iginla notched his sixth career hat trick, scoring three goals in the third period to break a 6-6 stalemate and give the Flames a 9-6 victory over the Lightning.
  • Bill Guerin ended a scoreless tie in the second period with his first of two goals, as the Islanders beat the Coyotes 3-2.
