The Memphis Grizzlies beat the defending NBA champion San Antonio Spurs 88-85, on Rudy Gay’s 3-pointer as time expired. Manu Ginobili had tied the game with less than three seconds remaining, but, Gay, the former UConn standout, received the inbounds pass, dribbled towards the top of the key, and shot the game winner over defensive stalwart Tim Duncan, reports the AP. Elsewhere in the Association:

  • Al Harrington led Golden State to a 111-98 win over Minnesota. Harrington scored 25 points as the Warriors overcame a halftime deficit to improve their record to 15-11.
  • Six players scored in double-figures for Orlando, as the Magic beat the Rockets 97-92. Dwight Howard led Orlando with 21 points and Yao Ming had 19 for Houston in the matchup of two of the game's best centers.
