Your dog has surely brought you some grisly "gifts," but hopefully nothing quite this bad: A 93-year-old Washington man found his dog standing over a human leg Tuesday. "I picked it up, and looked at the toes," says Bill Flowers, who estimates the limb had been dismembered about 4 inches down from the butt. Scared he would be accused of murder, Flowers buried it. But four days later, after his daughter gave him some advice, he called police—and their investigation uncovered more human remains yesterday, KOMO News reports.

"I was afraid to call," Flowers explains. "I'm 93 years old. I didn't want to have to go to the pen for something I didn't do." He needn't have worried: Investigators initially outfitted his dog, Liberty, with a GPS unit, hoping she'd return to the burial site. Ultimately, however, search and rescue dogs found the pelvis and rib cage, buried in the woods at an old fish hatchery on the Nisqually Reservation. Parts of a skull were also found, KIRO TV reports. The investigation is ongoing. (More strange stuff stories.)
