Cops: Bank Robbers Posed With Cash on Facebook
The happy couple.   (Facebook)

There's dumb criminals, dumb selfies, and then there's this guy. Police in Ohio say their search for a bank robber was made easier when suspect John Mogan and his girlfriend posted photos on Facebook of themselves posing with big wads of cash, the Circleville Herald reports. The 28-year-old, who was released from prison on July 19 after serving time for a previous bank robbery, was arrested along with girlfriend Ashley Duboe for the Aug. 24 robbery of a bank in Ashville, where his parents live, the Herald reports.

Police say the couple started posting photos of the cash on Facebook four days after the robbery, some of them showing Mogan pretending to eat the money or use it as a phone, the Smoking Gun reports. Investigators say Mogan walked into the bank and handed the teller a note before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of money. Duboe allegedly served as the getaway driver and also applied makeup to cover up tattoos on her boyfriend's face, which read "Loyalty's Thin" and "Betrayal's Thick," per the Smoking Gun. (This burglary suspect was wearing a shirt stolen in another crime for his mugshot.)
