Every year since 1981, Butterball opens a help line in the days before Thanksgiving so struggling cooks can call in with questions about how to avoid ruining their turkey. This year, for the first time, the company has added a texting option, Business Insider reports. If you have turkey questions and you don't feel like actually speaking to anyone, text 844-877-3456 any time from Nov. 17 through Nov. 24; the service is available 24/7. About 50 experts are on hand to answer turkey questions each year, including on Thanksgiving day itself; Butterball has also recently started offering help via Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. Some of the most common questions involve how big of a turkey to buy or what to do if you forget to thaw the bird before the big day. (More Butterball stories.)
