Police say a pair of teens planning to shoot up an Arizona high school were arrested last week—after they started a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for the ammunition they needed. Police were alerted to the situation after a third student overheard the two suspects talking about their gun plot, the Arizona Republic reports. Investigators say they learned that one 15-year-old planned to start shooting at Combs High School in San Tan Valley after filing the serial number off a gun and that the other 15-year-old set up the GoFundMe page. "The site explained that ammunition was expensive and they needed help to shoot up Combs High School," says the Pinal County Sheriff's Office in a statement.

Police also say one of the students had access to weapons at his home, ABC 15 reports. Both teens were arrested and charged with interference or disruption of an educational institution and conspiracy to commit terrorism. As for the GoFundMe campaign, it "raised no funds and has been removed from the platform," officials for the crowdfunding site say in a statement. "Additionally, the campaign organizer has been banned from using the GoFundMe platform. It is against GoFundMe's terms of service to raise funds on our platform to buy ammunition or firearms."
