With Alec Baldwin busy with legal trouble, Saturday Night Live used its final episode before the midterm elections to poke fun at Fox News and its coverage of the migrant caravan, with Kate McKinnon worrying as host Laura Ingraham about "a vicious caravan of dozens, maybe millions of illegal immigrants." She later swiped Baldwin, reports USA Today, saying, "When we come back, an update from disgraced former actor Alec Baldwin—seen here molesting a young Boy Scout," showing a picture of the classic "Canteen Boy" sketch with Adam Sandler.

The show didn't exactly steer clear of its stars' woes, with Pete Davidson addressing his breakup with Ariana Grande on Weekend Update, initially joking that he'd had to move back in with his mom before calling her "a wonderful, strong person, and I genuinely wish her all the happiness in the world. Now please, vote on Tuesday." In the segment, Davidson also controversially mocked Republican congressional candidate Dan Crenshaw, who lost an eye while serving as a Navy SEAL. Jonah Hill guest-hosted the show, joining the Five-Timer Club, while Maggie Rogers was musical guest. (More Saturday Night Live stories.)
