Florida has begun an unprecedented recount—for both the governor and Senate races—and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum is taking his previous concession to Ron DeSantis off the table, reports Politico. “I am replacing my words of concession in an unapologetic call that we count every vote,” said Gillum. As of Saturday, DeSantis led by a scant .41% of the vote, or about 33,600 votes, a margin small enough to trigger an automatic machine recount. The Senate race is even closer, with Republican Rick Scott ahead of Democratic incumbent Bill Nelson by 0.15%, or about 12,500 votes.

In fact, the Senate race is so close that the Washington Post expects it will result in a hand recount once the machine recount is completed later this week. President Trump has been among the most vocal critics of the vote counting in Florida, tweeting Saturday: "Trying to STEAL two big elections in Florida! We are watching closely!" Gillum, though, said Republican critics were being hypocritical. "Every vote will be counted," he said. “I have got to imagine that if the shoe were on the other foot of my opponents, not one of them would stop until the votes are counted.” (Much of the focus is on Palm Beach and Broward counties.)
