Stocks are closing lower on Wall Street after China reported a surprise drop in exports last month, renewing concerns about that country's economy, the AP reports. Technology and health care companies took some of the biggest losses Monday. Apple lost 1.5% and Merck gave up 2%. A strong quarterly report from Citigroup helped bank stocks trade higher. Newspaper publisher Gannett soared 21% after the publisher of USA Today got an unsolicited takeover bid. The S&P 500 fell 13 points, or 0.5%, to 2,582. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 86 points, or 0.4%, to 23,909. The Nasdaq gave up 65 points, or 0.9%, to 6,905. (More stock market stories.)
