Cardi B and Tomi Lahren got into an online smackdown over President Trump's border wall and the government shutdown. The 26-year-old singer and rapper caused quite a buzz last week with a 58-second rant about the partial shutdown, noting that "our country is in a hellhole right now, all for a f---ing wall." And while that diatribe caught the attention of many when it went viral, it wasn't positive attention Cardi got from Lahren, People reports. "Looks like @iamcardib is the latest genius political mind to endorse the Democrats," the 26-year-old conservative commentator eye-rolled on Twitter on Wednesday, a remark that Slate calls "a big mistake." "HA! Keep it up, guys! #MAGA2020," Lahren continued.

"Leave me alone I will dog walk you," was Cardi B's curt reply four days later. The back-and-forth continued, with Lahren using the word "moronic" to describe the rapper's "political rambling," and Cardi B hitting back with accusations that Lahren is a "sheep" who's "blinded with racism." "You don't even realize the decisions the president you root for is destroying the country you claim to love so much," Cardi B wrote. People notes that the singer did an Instagram Live Sunday explaining she's always been into history and politics, going back to her high school AP classes, and that she's sick of people saying she should stick to talking about music. "It just really gets me upset when people say, 'Oh you doin' this s—, you're dumb, you shouldn't be talking about this shit' … This is a passion that I have," she noted. (At least the drama between her and estranged husband Offset seems to have faded.)
