Google Makes YouTube Audio, Video Searchable

Want to get your presidential candidate’s take on health care without suffering his whole speech? A new Google tool will find the relevant clips on YouTube for you—no sifting through piles of junk required, TechCrunch reports. The tool, called GAudi, indexes words spoken in audio and video files, then puts them into a database that works like Google’s regular Web search engine.

Once you find the clip you seek, you can watch the whole thing or click on a link below it to go to the exact moment during the speech in which health care was mentioned. Google said today it’s testing the tool on only political fodder—so you don’t need to worry about your drunken party video getting indexed … for now. (More Google stories.)
