Nike is bolting from the US Chamber of Commerce’s board of directors over the business lobby's dogged opposition to climate change legislation, a stance it “fundamentally disagrees” with, and which fails to represent "the diversity of perspective held by the board of directors.” But the swoosh won’t leave the organization entirely, as environmental activists have called for.

Instead, it’ll stay on in order to “advocate for climate change legislation” from within, Politico reports. But several companies have recently taken their leave altogether over the issue, including utility companies like Exelon Corp and Pacific Gas & Electric. (More Nike stories.)
