5 Things You Can No Longer Do in 2011

As we rang in the new year, we also rang in about 31,000 new state laws. The Week rounds up five you should know about:

• In California: If you were planning on, say, creating a fake Facebook profile for your mortal enemy, think again. Impersonating someone online is now illegal.
• In Illinois: If K2 is your drug of choice, tough luck. The recreational drug, similar to marijuana, has been banned.

• In New York: If you’re driving past a parked emergency vehicle with sirens and lights on, you better move into the next lane if it’s safe to do so. For that matter, you’ll need to change lanes in most of the country—New York is the 48th state to enact this law.
