Chris Paul reset the Hornets' assist record at 21 while Peja Stojakovic was blowing away the team's three-point tally with a franchise-record 10 triple-pointers in last night's 118-104 dousing of the Lakers. Kobe Bryant's 28 points and seven assists couldn't carry his team, which was missing Kwame Brown, out with a foot injury. In other Western Conference home-game action:

  • Orlando improved to 3-1 with a 111-103 Dwight-Howard-powered win over Minnesota.
  • Sacramento grabbed their first victory, 104-98, to hold better-playing Seattle winless despite Kevin Durant's 27 points and 7 rebounds.
  • Golden State surged late but fell just short of Cleveland, which won 108-104 on the tails of LeBron James and Zydrunas Ilgauskas.
