Wisconsin Passes Concealed Gun Law

Wisconsin is about to become the 49th state to allow residents to carry concealed weapons in public. The law, which will require permit holders to undergo background checks and training, passed the state's Republic-controlled assembly and is about to be signed by Gov. Scott Walker, reports the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. When it becomes law, Illinois will be the only state with a ban on carrying concealed weapons.

The measure—the latest "wish list" bill Republicans have been able to pass since taking control of all three branches of Wisconsin's government—allows permit holders to carry weapons in city and state parks and in bars, provided the holder is not drinking.
