Gabrielle Giffords and her husband, retired astronaut Mark Kelly, titled "Gabby: A Story of Courage and Hope." (AP Photo/Scribner) It turns out that Gabrielle Giffords hasn’t exactly agreed to an interview with Diane Sawyer after all, contrary to yesterday’s reports. A Giffords spokesman tells the Tucson Sentinel that Giffords “has not decided if she's going to conduct an on-camera interview.” Sawyer will “sit down and talk with Mark and Gabby off-camera,” but will only talk to Giffords on camera if her rehabilitation is progressing well enough. It’s easy to see how confusion could have arisen. ABC’s announcement read, “In a landmark television event, Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and her husband Space Shuttle Commander Mark Kelly will share their remarkable story for the first time,” and yes, they were the ones who put Giffords’ name in bold. Nearly every news outlet took that to mean that Giffords would be appearing on-camera. Read These Next Her blood isn't compatible with anyone else's.
