Virginia Tech avenged an earlier 14-10 loss to Boston College, winning the rematch—and ACC championship—30-16. Sean Glennon, one of its quarterbacks, threw for three touchdowns; Tyrod Taylor, the other, had a key first-down scramble on the game-winning drive. The Hokies are assured a berth in the Orange Bowl with the win.

His team down by seven, Ryan threw two interceptions in the final three minutes, the first on a desperation 4th down toss, the second on a ball tipped at the line of scrimmage, which was returned for a touchdown to clinch it. The Eagles fell despite a dominating first half, in which they had twenty first downs and a 13-minute advantage in time of possession but could only score 9 points on offense. (More NCAA stories.)
