There won't be a 20th Duggar baby, after all—at least not next year. Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar got the sad news that Michelle had miscarried in her second trimester when they went in to their doctor's office for a routine check-up yesterday. They had hoped to learn the baby's sex, but instead returned home to share the sad news with their 19 kids. "We had just been talking about baby names, and they were getting excited about naming a boy or a girl," Michelle, 45, told People. "It has been a real sad disappointment."
The family will still select a name and hold a funeral service. "I feel like my heart broke telling my children," said Michelle. "They have all been so excited about this baby and looking forward to April coming around, and having a new little one in our arms. That was the most difficult." Some medical observers were concerned that the stars of the TLC reality show 19 Kids and Counting planned to go ahead with yet another pregnancy. Michelle Duggar, who has had five cesareans, suffered life-threatening preeclampsia last time around, and her baby Josie battled for life after she was born extremely prematurely.
