A Minnesota man with three drunk-driving convictions on his record was busted yet again Monday night ... but this time, instead of a car, he was driving a Zamboni. A PeeWee hockey coach called 911 after players, parents, and spectators at the Hayes Arena noticed the driver weaving and running into the boards, taking 25 minutes to do a 10-minute ice resurfacing job, reports the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
By the time the police arrived, the 34-year-old driver had managed to maneuver the Zamboni into the garage, where he failed sobriety tests. Before the game, the coach had noticed the man's eyes were red and he smelled like Red Bull, but he didn't think anything of it until after the game, when a parent told him the driver was "weaving all over, slurring his words." He was taken to the police station for a blood-alcohol test, and cops were awaiting results from the state before filing charges. (More driving while intoxicated stories.)
