Despite Exit, Gingrich Still Slamming Mitt

For those of you who thought the next words out of Newt Gingrich’s mouth on national television would be an endorsement of Mitt Romney, think again. Despite his (painfully drawn-out) exit from the race, Gingrich was on CNN yesterday to once again point out that “the Romney campaign said things that weren’t true.”

Pressed by Wolf Blitzer, Gingrich refused to actually call Romney a liar (like he has done before), but did go so far as to say that “the governor said things at times that weren’t true,” which was good enough for Blitzer. Of course, Gingrich also added that he still trusts Romney much more than he trusts President Obama, Politico notes, before he tossed in one final dig: “This is a comparative business. And our choice isn’t Mitt Romney or Ronald Reagan.”
