So much for "hope and change" … unless, of course, you mean change for the worse: 56% of likely voters believe President Obama has changed America negatively, a new poll for The Hill finds, while just 35% believe he's made it better. Obviously this is bad news for Obama as he works to be re-elected, and he may find this statistic particularly disturbing: One out of five Democrats think he's transformed America for the worse. Not surprisingly, 91% of Republicans agree with them.
Overall, whether for better or worse, 68% of likely voters believe Obama has significantly changed the US since being elected, but just 50% believe Mitt Romney would bring a similar level of change. And a sizable 89% of likely voters think the results of Election 2012 will have an impact on the future of the US, with 47% saying they are paying more attention this time around than they did in 2008. Republicans are paying even more attention than Democrats, which could be more bad news for Obama.
