Photographer Recalls Bhutto's Final Moments

In the final moments before she was assassinated, Benazir Bhutto waved to supporters from the sunroof of her vehicle and was "clearly in her element," photographer John Moore, who snapped the last photos of Bhutto, tells CNN. In a crowd of 5,000 to 8,000, "she just wanted to get close to the people, and obviously whoever was after her—they saw that coming," said Moore.

Moore stood 20 yards away from Bhutto's car as he photographed her. "Suddenly, there were a few gun shots that rang out, and she went down through the sunroof," after which a bomb detonated and chaos ensued.
