Here are a few of the ways Charles Krauthammer describes President Obama's policy on Iran in today's Washington Post: "incoherent," "in shambles," "beyond feckless," and "knowingly and obviously contradictory." No wonder Israel is angry, he writes. Obama insists he won't let Iran obtain a nuclear weapon, but he refuses to do anything to back up the rhetoric.
Sanctions? International isolation? Please. Iran laughs them off. "The mullahs have strung Obama along for more than three years and still see no credible threat emanating from the one country that could disarm them," writes Krauthammer. Meanwhile, Tehran gets ever closer to a nuclear arsenal. We need real deadlines, benchmarks that cannot be violated, but Obama seems incapable. "Not since its birth six decades ago has Israel been so cast adrift by its closest ally." Read Krauthammer's full column here. (More Israel stories.)
