One New Hampshire town is in sync with the state and even the nation. Hudson, population 25,000, has picked the state's primary winners and national party nominees in the past 13 elections. "It's certainly been happening a long time for it to just be a coincidence," New Hampshire's secretary of state told the Nashua Telegraph.
One official chalked it up to demographics, saying, "We're pretty representative of the rest of the state." The town is 96% white and more affluent than most of New Hampshire, with a $71,313 median family income. It's also home to "voters who tend to do a good job of choosing the most viable candidates," said one expert who knows her stuff—she's a state rep from Hudson. (More New Hampshire primary stories.)
