(AP Photo/Susan Walsh) Joe Biden made clear today as he kicked off two days of meetings on gun laws that President Obama is prepared to act without Congress to make changes, reports USA Today. Two quotes from the vice president getting wide circulation: "The president is going to act. There are executives orders, there's executive action that can be taken. We haven't decided what that is yet." “This is a problem that requires immediate attention. I want to make clear that we’re not going to get caught up in the notion that, unless we can do everything, we’re going to do nothing.” Biden met with gun-safety and victims' groups today, and he will meet with the NRA and gun-rights advocates tomorrow (including Walmart). Among the things under consideration: reinstating the ban on assault weapons, setting up a national database, tightening background checks of gun buyers, and restricting the purchase of high-capacity magazines, reports CBS.
