A murder trial in Queens yesterday had an unexpected visitor watching the courtroom proceedings: Katie Holmes. Holmes showed up during the trial of Li Hangbin, who is accused of shaking his baby girl to death in 2007. The New York Times mentioned her appearance briefly in its article on the trial, and the two sentences were spotted by Vulture. Holmes' publicist says she knows the prosecutor, Leigh Bishop, and attended to watch her. "She was there supporting her friend who is the prosecuting DA," Holmes' rep tells the New York Post. She left after opening arguments. (More Katie Holmes stories.)
