Good thing Mike Eruzione saved his jersey: The 1980 Olympian who scored a late goal in the "Miracle on Ice" game to beat the Soviets is putting it up for auction next month, reports AP. It's expected to fetch at least $1 million at Heritage Auctions on Feb. 23. If that's out of your range, you can think about Eruzione's glove ($10,000), warm-up suit ($10,000), hockey stick ($50,000), or the blue jersey he wore when the US went on to beat Finland for the gold medal ($50,000).
"I thought this would be a great little nest egg for them for their future with their kids," the 58-year-old Eruzione explains, referring to his three adult children. He's keeping his gold medal, however, and vows it won't be sold while he's alive. Teammate Steve Christoff is selling his medal at the same auction, and it's expected to go for $400,000.
