Who's the coldest one of all? A court will have to decide, because the battle is on between International Falls, Minn., and Fraser, Colo. Both claim the right to boast of being the "Icebox of the Nation," the Summit Daily News of Frisco, Colo., reports. Fraser sued International Falls, demanding that the town prove it had been using the name since 1956, and International Falls has countersued, demanding the same.
The dispute seemed lighthearted before turning litigious: The towns challenged each other to a snowball fight and a snowshoe competition. International Falls passed a resolution last year demanding Fraser give up its "pretended claim" to subzero supremacy. The Coloradans in turn sent International Falls a package of Fraser "Icebox of the Nation" T-shirts. The Minnesotans, unamused, returned the package unopened. (More Minnesota stories.)
