"Not sure how I can be 'terminated' from a band I founded" was his response, according to the Week. But these seven other musicians experienced the same thing: After just a year in Metallica, guitarist Dave Mustaine was kicked out over his addiction problems. The other band members broke the news by giving him a Greyhound bus ticket instead of a plane ticket to their next show. He went on to found Megadeth. It was addiction that got Brian Jones expelled from the Rolling Stones as well. After too much partying, he was kicked out, and was found dead in his swimming pool a month later. Apparently Glen Matlock liked the Beatles and Paul McCartney a little too much, and that's what got him booted from the Sex Pistols.
