Crime | Accomack County Break in Mystery of Virginia Arsons? Tonya Bundick charged in latest arson to hit Accomack County By Kate Seamons Posted Apr 2, 2013 11:16 AM CDT Copied This image provided by the Accomack County Jail shows Tonya S. Bundick, 40, of Parksley, Va., who has been charged with one felony count of arson and one felony count of conspiracy to commit arson. (Accomack County Jail) Less than two weeks ago, the number of arsons that have baffled Virginia police since November stood at 72. As of today, Accomack County has weathered 77 such blazes, but there may be a break in the case: Police have today charged Tonya Bundick with one felony count of arson, and are working to determine "if and what [Bundick’s] connection to the other fires is," a state police rep tells the Washington Post. Bundick, 40, was pulled over shortly after midnight near an arson at a vacant building in Melfa, the most recent to hit the area. The AP notes Bundick is a resident of Parksley, a small community where the first arson occurred on Nov. 12. In total, 16 of the 77 arsons were set in Parksley. Because more than one building has been struck simultaneously, police believe more than one person is behind the crimes; the Post reports police are interviewing a second person of interest.
