300K Porn Site Visits Made From UK Parliament

Perhaps the UK's new Internet porn block is actually an act of self-restriction? People working in Parliament tried to access porn sites some 300,000 times in the past year alone, the Huffington Post has uncovered via an FOI request. It's not clear, however, which of the 5,000 people working in the House of Commons and House of Lords—the politicians or their staffers—tried to access the sites, reports the BBC. A House of Commons official argues the figures may have been inflated by page reloads and pop-ups, and they don't prove those involved intended to access the porn sites, anyway.

November 2012 was evidently the Houses' horniest and/or loneliest month, with 114,844 attempts to access porn sites recorded. In February this year, just 15 attempts were made. Earlier this year, the Daily Mail used a similar FOI request to discover that computers in Parliament had accessed "Out of Town Affairs"—a matchmaking website for married people looking to commit adultery—52,375 times in seven months.
