Mom Slapped Daughter ... at Her Wedding: Cops

A Marlborough, Mass., wedding came to a crashing end Sunday when rather than see the newlyweds off in style, guests saw the bride's mom off to jail. Leslie Duane, 55, was reportedly drunk and causing a scene before she was led outside to leave, MetroWest Daily News reports. That's when Duane, who was being helped into a car by her daughter, slapped the bride across the face, a prosecutor said during Duane's arraignment on Wednesday.

Police arrived to find Duane yelling and swearing from the bushes (she had apparently gone horizontal), claiming her daughter had actually attacked her, though several witnesses backed up the bride. Surprisingly, the brawl didn't seem to tinge Duane's fond memories of the wedding day. "It was beautiful," she told the judge, who ordered her not to abuse the victim.
