President Obama may able to strip those Pinocchios from his record: A Democratic official tells the Wall Street Journal that the White House will allow insurers to continue to offer the "substandard" plans that have been canceled, to the distress of many, as a result of ObamaCare. CNN is calling it an "administrative" solution, rather than a legislative one. A Democratic source tells the network that those who have individual policies will be granted a one-year renewal. But in a move likely intended to push people off those plans, the insurance companies will have to tell policyholders which benefits they will be missing out on by not changing their coverage.
The president will make a statement at 11:35am ET. The Journal notes that the announcement may be enough to cause Democrats to back off their support of a House vote on a Republican bill addressing these plans scheduled for tomorrow. (More ObamaCare stories.)
