New charges in the much-discussed "knockout game": This time, a 35-year-old Brooklyn man is facing six counts of hate crime assault, among other charges. Police say Barry Baldwin attacked seven people, two of whom were elderly, CNN reports. The victims were white women, mostly Jewish, a police insider tells the New York Post. Assaults over the past two months included one against a 78-year-old woman who was knocked down during a walk with her great-granddaughter in a stroller, police say.

The woman received minor injuries. Another 78-year-old woman was allegedly attacked on Christmas Eve. Also among the alleged victims was a 33-year-old mother who was bruised and cut after being knocked into her 7-year-old, according to the Post. Now, "everyone will sleep a little easier," says a Brooklyn assemblyman. Though there have been nine suspected "knockout" assaults reported since October in New York, police say there's no sign of a trend, CNN notes. (More knockout game stories.)
