Oregon Couple Tips Waitress With Crystal Meth
Erica Manley, 37, and Ryan Bensen, 40, were busted after the waitress called 911.   (Clatsop County Jail)

After dinner and drinks Thursday at a steakhouse in Seaside, Ore., a cash-light couple tried to tip their server with some of what they'd been cooking—crystal meth. After paying their tab with a gift card, the pair handed the waitress an envelope marked with a question mark containing a stash of the drug. "She was like 'Whoa—what the …?'" the restaurant's manager tells the Oregonian. "We’re not a little dive bar or hole in the wall. We’re a classy place."

The waitress called police, who arrived to find the couple still at the steakhouse, and discovered 17 ounces of the drug in the woman's purse. After obtaining a search warrant, cops found a meth lab in the couple's room at the Holiday Inn. "While I should be shocked and surprised, it’s just another example of how dumb these users and dealers are," the local police chief says. "The whole thing almost made me chuckle."
