Teen Who Sued Parents for Money Returns Home

Rachel Canning, the New Jersey teen who made headlines by suing her parents for college tuition money, is ... back at their place. Her parents' attorney announced today that the 18-year-old returned to the family home and has "reunited with her parents and siblings," but that the return "is not contingent on any financial and/or other considerations." Canning moved out in October and had been staying with her best friend, whose family paid her legal fees and has been accused of providing her with alcohol.

The lawsuit has not been officially withdrawn, reports the Daily Record, but the parents' attorney said the case was "over on a different level, not legal." He didn't elaborate on that confusing statement. While a judge last week rejected the teen's demand that her parents pay her remaining high school tuition, he set a court date of April 22 to address the larger issue of their financial obligations to her as an adult, reports the AP. It's not clear yet whether that will still take place.
