Kids' Parties Gone Wrong Lead to Parents' Arrests

Two police reports illustrate what results when adult supervision is a little shaky: drunk fifth-graders and tattooed 12-year-olds. The first case is from Rhode Island, where three 10- and 11-year-old girls ended up drunk and in the hospital, reports AP. They were hanging out at the home of one of the girls under the supervision of parent Christina White, who admits to NBC 10 that she was "quite drunk" herself. White swears she didn't give the girls booze, but they tell a different story, and she has been charged with multiple counts of procuring alcohol for a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The night came to an end when the older sister of one of the girls drove over to pick her up about 9:30pm and discovered that all three were stumbling and slurring. The parents of one say she had a blood-alcohol level of 0.084.

The second case involving the tattoo is from Pennsylvania. As the Titusville Herald reports, a 12-year-old girl spent the night at a friend's under the watch of Randall Charlton, 33, and Melissa Becker, 30. The girl looked on as Charlton gave Becker a tattoo with a kit, and asked for a small one of own. She said her mom would be fine with it, and thus ended up with a smiley face on her arm, adorned with the word "bitch." As it turns out, mom wasn't fine with it, and Charlton and Becker face a slew of charges including endangering the welfare of a child. (In Britain, meanwhile, two parents were arrested over their child's hefty weight.)
