LeBron James, who has said his favorite time of game is the fourth quarter, converted a layup with 3:04 remaining in the fourth today, breaking a tie game and putting the Cavaliers ahead to stay in a 95-86 victory over Chicago. "When the games are close, that's when I like to do work," he said. The league MVP candidate had 37 points, while Wally Szczerbiak added 17, writes AP.

The Bulls' Drew Gooden, James' former teammate, has seen him control the game late many times before. "I know how other teams feel, being on the other end of that stick," he said. Former Cav Larry Hughes led Chicago with 23 points and was booed mightily in his first game in Cleveland since being traded last month. Three others scored 11. (More basketball stories.)
