Interstate 68 in western Maryland is a little more colorful these days as crews work to clean up 6,500 gallons of spilled paint. State police say the driver of a tractor-trailer was texting when he lost control of the vehicle Wednesday evening, causing plastic barrels of white and yellow paint to bust open when the truck overturned. Cleanup is slow going because the paint has to be peeled off, not washed off, a state highway spokesperson tells WBAL. No injuries were reported in the accident. The driver has been charged with negligent driving and illegal use of a hand-held phone. (More distracted driving stories.)
