Six months after news of her private email server first broke, Hillary Clinton apologized for the controversy—but not her use of a personal email account—during an exclusive interview with MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell today. "At the end of the day, I am sorry that this has been confusing to people and has raised a lot of questions, but there are answers to all these questions," Clinton told Mitchell during what was only her third nationally televised interview since declaring her presidential candidacy in April. "I take responsibility, and it wasn't the best choice." Clinton said she used her personal email account as a senator and kept using it as secretary of state. "This was fully above board," she told Mitchell. "I did it for convenience."
NBC News reports Clinton's numbers have been sinking since her use of a personal email account first made the news, but she remains positive things will turn around. "I am very confident that by the time this campaign has run its course, people will know that what I have been saying is accurate," she told Mitchell. Clinton also used the rare interview appearance to address Donald Trump, whose candidacy she considers dangerous and harmful to American politics. "Loose talk, threats, insults—they have consequences," she told Mitchell. "The president of the United States needs to be careful about what he or she says." Watch the full interview here.
