Kim Davis said this morning she wouldn't authorize any marriage licenses now that she's back at work, and she has so far kept to her word. But that didn't stop Carmen and Shannon Wampler-Collins from obtaining their Rowan County license this morning, making them the first same-sex couple to nab one since Davis showed back up at the county clerk's office, CNN reports.

As the couple filled out their paperwork, they were heckled by Davis supporters who criticized them for their "sin," the Washington Post reports. But when Brian Mason, the deputy clerk who agreed to issue the licenses, handed them their finished papers, gay rights supporters proclaimed, "Thank you, Brian!" A legal analyst tells CNN that the deputy's signature on the license may be valid without Davis' consent, per Kentucky law, but that if the license was altered to remove her name and title, a court may have to rule on whether the document legally stands. (Maybe she passed this billboard on her way to work this morning.)
