Gilmore Girls fans talked, and it looks like Netflix listened. The much-loved show will be returning for a series of four 90-minute episodes that Netflix plans to start producing as early as next year, sources tell TVLine. Cast members from the series, which ended in 2007, have yet to sign deals, but series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and executive producer Daniel Palladino are already on board, the sources say. Most of the major players will be back, including Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel as Lorelai and Rory Gilmore, according to the Atlantic.

Sherman-Palladino departed before the show's seventh and final season, and the new series will give her a chance to have the "last word," the Hollywood Reporter notes. "It's always a bummer when you don't get to end it," she said at the ATX Television Festival earlier this year, per the Reporter. "I had hoped maybe that there would have been a call, 'Hey, it's the last episode, do you want to come back?' And there wasn't." Sherman-Palladino has said that since the show's beginning, she has known the four words that the series finale will end with, TVLine notes. (Full House is also coming back to life on Netflix next year.)
