X-Men: Apocalypse romped at the box office this Memorial Day weekend, with the franchise's latest installment pulling in $65 million for the three-day weekend, reports USA Today. That number was projected to climb to $80 million when Monday is added to the Friday-to-Sunday totals. The box office held more bad news for Johnny Depp, however, in the form of a second-place finish for Alice Through the Looking Glass, with $28.1 million. Last week's champ, The Angry Birds Movie, fell to third place with $18.7 million, while Captain America: Civil War slid to fourth with $15 million. The latter is in its fifth week and has racked up $376.9 million to date. Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising came in at No. 5 with $9.1 million. (More box office stories.)
