Celebrity Hillary Clinton supporter Elton John hasn't suddenly switched sides and he definitely will not be playing at Donald Trump's inauguration, a rep says. "There is no truth in this at all," she tells the BBC, responding to Trump transition team member Anthony Scaramucci's claim that the British singer would perform in Washington, DC, as part of the Jan. 20 inauguration. Trump used John's songs "Rocket Man" and "Tiny Dancer" at his rallies, but the singer was an enthusiastic Clinton supporter: He performed at an "I'm With Her" campaign benefit concert in New York City earlier this year and referred to Trump as a "barbarian" during another fundraiser in LA last month.
But while they won't get Elton, Trump's team is likely to get tens of millions of dollar in donations as it prepares for the inauguration, the AP reports. A source on the Presidential Inauguration Committee says Trump has set a $1 million donation limit for corporations and no limit at all for individuals, though corporate lobbyists will not be allowed to donate. Obama set a $50,000 limit for individual donations to his 2009 inauguration and didn't accept corporate donations. That changed to unlimited donations from both corporate and individual donors for his 2013 inauguration The AP also reports that Trump and family members had Thanksgiving dinner at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Fla., where the menu included something called "Mr. Trump's Wedge Salad."
