Hugh Laurie's acceptance speech at the Golden Globes contained what many are calling the funniest anti-Donald Trump line in a night full of them. Thanking the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for the award, the British actor quipped that he had won at the "last ever" Golden Globes, Mashable reports. "I don't mean to be gloomy but it has the words 'Hollywood,' 'foreign' and 'press' in it," he said. "I also think to some Republicans even the word 'association' is slightly sketchy," he added as the audience laughed and cheered.
Laurie—who took home the award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television for his role in "The Night Manager"—was referring to the "strained relationship" between the president-elect and the entertainment industry, Variety reports. Laurie joked that he was accepting his award "on behalf of psychopathic billionaires everywhere." (Meryl Streep told the audience about a Trump "performance" that broke her heart.)
