Bob Dylan Finally Gets Around to His Nobel

Bob Dylan will be knockin' on the Swedish Academy's door this weekend to finally pick up his Nobel Prize in Literature. Rolling Stone reports that the singer-songwriter, who famously didn't reply right away upon learning he'd won the prize in October—and who sent singer Patti Smith in his place to the December awards ceremony—is heading to Stockholm, where he'll be given his diploma, medal, and long-overdue congrats in an "intimate" setting with no press around, "all according to Dylan's wishes," an academy spokeswoman says in a statement. He won't be offering his required Nobel lecture during his visit; instead, he'll provide a taped version "at a later point." Someone from the academy is reportedly planning on attending one of the concerts he has scheduled in Stockholm.
