Aaron Harang held Milwaukee to one run in eight innings, Edwin Encarnacion hit a two-run homer and Francisco Cordero earned a save against his former team to lead the Cincinnati Reds over the Brewers 4-1 Thursday. Cincinnati responded from Tuesday's loss to take two out of three from the Brewers.

Harang (1-1) gave up a soft RBI single to J.J. Hardy in the second inning. He allowed five hits, struck out three and walked none. Cordero, who left the Brewers to sign with the Reds in the offseason, pitched a perfect ninth for his second save. Tied 1-1 going into the seventh, Cincinnati scored three runs to chase Carlos Villanueva (1-1).
