Police in Australia discovered a record-breaking amount of meth stashed under floorboards, but they didn't need to rip up a floor: The 2,000-pound haul was discovered in a shipment of 70 boxes of wooden floorboards in a Melbourne warehouse, the BBC reports. Two Melbourne men, ages 53 and 36, have been charged with drug trafficking offenses, and police are looking for at least two other suspects in connection with the shipment from an undisclosed location in Asia, per the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. The stash is believed to have a street value of around $680 million. Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull praised police for thwarting what he called "merchants of death," per the BBC.

Police say the drugs were seized after a months-long probe into an international drug syndicate, the ABC reports. Lisa Neville, the police minister of Victoria state, said the seizure will help restrict access to a drug doing a huge amount of harm in the state. "What this represents here today is somewhere around about 9 million hits," she said, per the ABC. "You think about that in terms of communities, you think about that in terms of families." She said the meth problem in the state, and across Australia, is so extensive that more people die on the roads with meth in their systems than are killed in drunk-driving accidents. (Last year, Australian cops found meth worth $900 million stashed in an unlikely place.)
